The seven archangels are Michael, Jophiel, Chamuel, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, and Zadkiel. Each of these angels serves it's own purpose and helps humanity in some way.

According to most New Age beliefs, there are seven archangels. Each one has his own ray or color of his aura. Each angel can be called upon for a different purpose. For example, major life changes such as the loss of a loved one, graduating from school, or choosing a career can be good reasons to call upon angelic assistance.

The Seven Archangels

Archangel Michael: He is the angel of protection and the leader of blue-flamed angels (angels with a blue-colored ray). He can be called upon during times of trouble.

Archangel Jophiel: He is the archangel of illumination and has the yellow ray. His qualities include wisdom, understanding, inspiration, knowledge, and clear-seeing. Jophiel can also aid in helping people with addictions.

Archangel Chamuel: He is the archangel of love and has the pink ray. His qualities include love, compassion, mercy, creativity, and forgiveness. Chamuel can also help people with self-esteem issues.

Archangel Gabriel: He is the archangel of guidance and has the white ray. His qualities include guidance, joy, and purity. Gabriel can assist with a lack of money or resources.

Archangel Raphael: He is the archangel of healing and carries the green ray. His qualities include truth, wholeness, and vision. Raphael is considered a very practical angel and can assist with the fields of science and mathematics. He can also help wounded soldiers and help doctors or those who practice alternative medicine with their practice.

Archangel Uriel: He is the archangel of peace and carries a purple and gold ray. He has the qualities of inner peace, tranquility, and hope. Uriel can help end wars and solve court problems.

Archangel Zadkiel: He is the archangel of joy and has the violet flame. His qualities include freedom, mercy, justice, and forgiveness. He can help in the resolution of old grudges and lift painful memories of abuse or other negative experiences in people's lives.

The Seven Rays of Archangels

Many people wonder what the word "ray" means. A good way to explain the rays of the archangel's is to compare them to the beauty of the northern lights. Envision the northern lights and then envision just that one color, shining brightly in the sky. That is what a ray looks like.

The rays help humans associate the qualities of each angel. Because angels are invisible to most people, their colors are on another spectrum. To some people they may not physically appear; others may see a translucent figure and others may have the gift of seeing a solid angelic being first-hand with their own eyes.

Popular Archangels

Michael and Gabriel are the two most popular archangels. They appear in the protestant bible and throughout several other Jewish and Christian texts. All of these archangels are equally important, however and they each have a specific task and a hand in helping humanity.
