By practicing an attitude of gratitude just a few minutes every day, people can attract positive events and energy into their lives resulting in a harmonious existence.

Practicing gratitude is the simple idea of being grateful for everything that has been, is, or will come to be in a person’s life. Being truly thankful for what the universe has provided not only exhibits gracious manners, it also encourages abundance to flow freely in and out of one’s life.

Practicing Gratitude Every Day

Some people may choose to write down all the things they are thankful for when they first wake up in the morning. A pocket-sized notebook can be used to record these thoughts and carried as a reminder to practice the gratitude attitude. Alternatively, some people may just choose to verbally list all the things they are grateful for at the beginning of each day. Either of these suggestions can help institute a positive mindset that can help attract positive energy throughout the day.

A person might also choose to remind themselves to be grateful whenever they come across something that they consider a blessing. This exercise teaches awareness in the moment as one must constantly be on the lookout for things that most people would take for granted, such as a perfect rose beginning to bloom.

This can also be made into a family exercise, and could become a nightly dinner ritual where everyone around the dinner table shares one thing they are grateful for. This serves to bring family members closer together by creating a common bond through practicing the gratitude attitude.

What is comfortable for one person may seem awkward to another so it is important to experiment with different methods until finding an exercise that fits the individual.

Tips for Experiencing True Thankfulness

The list of things someone is thankful for will vary from person to person as each individual’s life path is unique. Some categories that might serve as points of thought include: health, financial status, loved ones, everyday conveniences and freedom.

There may be times when adopting a gratitude attitude can be challenging, especially when experiencing a period of hardship or loss. However, continuing to be thankful for everything one has during difficult times can actually encourage positive energy and events to occur in one’s life. Often the toughest situations teach the most important life lessons and learning to be grateful for the knowledge learned during such times is a sign of true thankfulness.

Remember that there is nothing wrong with being thankful for something that hasn’t happened yet. The intent of positive energy may assist the universe in bringing a personal request into manifestation. Don’t be afraid to use this opportunity to bring your dreams to fruition by practicing the gratitude attitude.

Practicing the gratitude attitude every day can have an amazing impact on people’s lives, leading to a satisfied and fulfilling existence. In turn, this could alter the way people interact with one another and lead to a positive global change.
