Channeling is the ability to receive information psychically from the spirit world. The information is said to come from spirits, angels, and even extraterrestrials. Some channelers receive their information through meditation, while others go into trance.
Here's a look at some of the world's most famous channelers.
Prophet Edgar Casey
A famed 20th century prophet, Edgar Casey gave over 14,000 readings in his lifetime. He channeled information on such subjects as reincarnation, ancient civilizations, (including Atlantis,) medical conditions, changes in the earth, and dreams.
Numerous books have been written about Edgar Casey's prophecies including There is a River, Edgar Casey-An American Prophet, The Edgar Casey Remedies, and An Edgar Casey Encyclopedia of Foods for Health and Healing.
Channeler Jane Roberts
One day while experimenting with the Ouija board with her husband, Rob, Jane encountered an entity who called himself Seth. This was the beginning of a relationship in which Seth provided a wealth of information to Roberts including what happens when people die, how to contact people who have crossed over, how people can create their own realities, and how to develop psychic ability. Roberts published several books with the information Seth channeled through her with her most popular being Seth Speaks.
Channeler Esther Hicks
Esther Hicks received her first communication from a group of non-physical entities, known as Abraham, in 1985. Abraham empowered Hicks with a wealth of information particularly on the Law of Attraction.
The hit movie, The Secret, is based on the teachings of Abraham. Hicks has written several books including the #1 New York Times bestseller, Money and the Law of Attraction.
Channeler Helen Schucman
In 1965, Helen Schucman, a New York psychologist, began receiving information through an inner voice. Over the course of the next seven years, she took over 1,200 pages of shorthand notes.
These notes went on to become A Course in Miracles. A Course in Miracles teaches what is real and what is illusion. Schucman believes that all of the information she channeled came directly from Jesus Christ.
Channeler Blossom Goodchild
Blossom Goodchild receives messages of unconditional love through a Native American entity named White Cloud. The author of three books, including A New Dawn, (which covers many controversial topics including terrorism and the truths and untruths of the Bible,) Goodchild announced to her followers that on October 8, 2008, a giant UFO would become visible in the sky. Unfortunately for Goodchild, this event never occurred.
Channeler Neale Donald Walsh
Things weren't going so well when Neale Donald Walsh posed a question to God. Amazingly, according to Walsh, God answered. This led to numerous question and answer sessions with God that Walsh wrote about in his New York Times Best Seller, Conversations with God. The first book was so successful that Walsh wrote two additional books and turned them into a trilogy.
It is important to note in channeling, unlike some other psychic abilities, it is not always possible to prove the claims made. Some channelers, such as Edgar Cayce with his channeled medical knowledge, have been quite successful with their information while others, like the above mentioned Blossom Goodchild and her incorrect UFO announcement, have lost followers along the way.
